Come ski. Even in the summer. In Denmark.
Sounds incredible? Yes indeed, but this might be the future, if the winning suggestions in the latest architectural competition in Copenhagen becomes reality. A unanimous jury chose Bjarke Ingels Group‘s spectacular project, Amagerforbrændingen (a new waste treatment plant): A 90 meter tall building, clad in plastic mats to serve as artificial snow, creating a ski slope for the people of the Danish capital.

The question is, of course, whether it can be made safe to ski just under the chimney emitting the smoke from the waste treatment plant – this is to be determined in the next stage of the process. Here’s hoping!
